Should I Elope This Year?

When it comes to getting married, the most important rule to follow during the planning process is this – there are no rules.

You get to call ALL the shots!

So if you want to elope, we’re here for it! Eloping is the Marie Kondo version of weddings, you strip away some of the more classic wedding components, and leave the elements that bring you the most joy. For some, that looks like climbing your favorite mountain and saying I do with no guest at all, and for others, it will be a small gathering of friends and family in a remote location.

Whatever it may be, we’re so excited to help document a genuinely unique experience that perfectly depicts your love story. So without further ado, let’s jump into the top reasons you should elope in 2021.

You want an intimate wedding with genuine interactions.

Most of our couples who choose to elope, do so because they want to focus on one another. They wish to strip away all the pressures of planning, hosting, and outside expectations from a more traditional wedding. Instead, they want to focus on this next step in their relationship, with an experience that is more authentic to them! We think they’re on to something.

Just think about every “big” moment in your relationship and imagine all of your family and friends there just watching. If that stresses you out, that’s normal. Your wedding day is no different than all your firsts, so why not shift the focus to the two of you.

Disclaimer: We love big traditional weddings, don’t get us wrong, but there is a sacrifice you’ll have to make in having one. No matter how intentional you plan to be with each other, there’s just too much to compete with as you deal with timelines, interacting with your guest, and the big event. Eloping is an excellent way of intentionally making space for one another without all the other distractions.

You want to save money and use it on the honeymoon.

According to The Knot’s 2019 Real Weddings Study, the average cost of a wedding in the United States came in at $33,900, and that’s not including the honeymoon.

Remember when you and your friends backpacked abroad on a college budget, and it was the best trip of your life? Now imagine doing that with the love of your life and far more money at your disposal. Sounds fantastic, right?

Getting eloped means, you can get married just about anywhere your heart desires; the beach, the mountains, or your favorite flower-filled meadow. We even have couples elope where they plan on honeymooning, cutting out that extra flight and making it that much easier to be present and enjoy the moment of their big day.

Have a wild adventure to start your marriage and HAVE IT CAPTURED

Your love story has been an adventure from the start, and why not kick off this new chapter with another? What’s something you both love doing? Where’s that place you’ve always wanted to see?

When planning your elopement, you can be as creative as you want. The logistic part of the wedding is a lot easier when you’re only planning for 2 and maybe a small number of guests than 100+ people. Plus, with our team of photographers and videographers, you won’t have to worry about capturing it yourself. You can fully live in the moment and replay these memories for years to come.

So whatever you decide to do, we hope you choose something that reflects your love story best. And if you decide to give us the tremendous honor of capturing your big day, we promise to document all the moments that matter most.
